Certified Sexual Addiction Specialist (CSAS) – The CSAS is for counselors who desire to work with, or who have been trained to work with, individuals who struggle with sexual addictions, pornographic addictions, deviant sexual behaviors, sexual victimizations, etc. ONLY those credentialed as a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor (BCPCC) or a Board Certified Christian Counselor (BCCC) are eligible to apply for this specialty designation. The levels of this specialty designation are:
Basic Level – Designates a basic understanding and competence of the subject matter, but with more limited field experience in sexual addiction counseling.
Advanced Level – Designates a greater and deeper understanding of the subject matter as an experienced and trustworthy counselor; someone showing a high degree of comprehension and competence.
Supervisor Level – Designates not only clinical competence and expertise in the subject matter, but also someone who has specific graduate level education, training and/or documented experience as a clinical supervisor.
Trainer Level – The highest designation possible, indicating comprehensive knowledge as a subject matter expert; advanced clinical/ministry skills and experience in practice, including the capability and a history of effectively training others in this specialty.
